Fanbyte was successfully pivoted from a traditional games media outlets focused on articles, features, and reviews to a tools-centric destination with guides, calendars, item databases, and additional modules to help assist players through the lifecycle of live-service games.
The propterty, while steering into a new direction of data-driven tools, still supported traditional written content with modules to display and recirculate articles, features, and reviews throughout the site to help support legacy content and continue to provide multiple methods for increasing pageviews across the site.
The structure of layouts for the site transitioned from traditional fixed-width layouts catering to articles to support a more responsive, module-based layout. Data modules were designed to support usage on hubs, within articles, and any additional space they could be useful.
The visual direction of the site was adjusted to continue to adhere to brand standards but provide better visual clarity and better adhere to basic accessibility.
A design system was created to support better consistency and visual direction for the whole site while allowing for select customizations in game-specific hubs.
